Rodin´s "Meditations" in Split

Meštrović Gallery Split sets up an exhibition of one of the most important works of Rodin - Meditation, which inspired Ivan Meštrović for making the central exhibit in his gallery in Split, marble Psyche, in 1927. Two aforementioned works and a number of important findings will be exposed to the audience which will submit the deep friendship between Rodin and Meštrović. After successful Meštrović exhibition in the Musée Rodin in 2012, the lost letter from Rodin to Meštrović was found (Ivan Meštrović Museums bought the letter) in which Rodin meets his request to give him a plaster cast of Meditation. Because of the war and the death of Auguste Rodin this never occurred. Hundred years after this work in bronze is in Meštrović’s home. The letter will be exposed, and this important project will be rounded through multimedia presentations and music.
